Swaps that Stuck – My Top 3 Plastic Free Swaps

I’m all about the fuss free, easy eco swaps, things that make life easier and just work. I’ve tried quite a few things over the years to help reduce waste and single use items, some more consciously than others. In this post I’ll list the swaps that stuck for me, ones that I made years ago and have kept to.

Here are my 3 most used eco plastic free swaps in the bathroom

Earth Conscious Deodorant

I’ve used this for about 6 years and it’s never let me down! I’ve mentioned it quite a few times (lots!) on my Instagram and I’m forever singing its praises anytime anyone asks for recommendations. It’s made of 100% natural ingredients and free from harsh chemicals, parents and artificial fragrances. So it’s good for you as well as for the planet. I’ve tried a few of the different scents but I keep on coming back to the Jasmine & Rose scent.

EcoLiving Shampoo

I have tried lots of different shampoo bars over the years and although I’ve tried some others after using this EcoLiving one, I keep going back to this one over and over again! You can read my review of the shampoo bar here.

Reusable Wipes

I’ve always suffered with bad skin and in an effort to improve my skin, I switched from using single use make up remover wipes (or baby wipes) for reusable wipes. Not only are they far kinder on your skin but you’ll be reducing waste every time you use them. Reusable wipes will last you a long time too so you’ll be saving a few pennies over the years. I’m still on the look out for the perfect low waste face cleanser.

The bathroom is a great place to start when you’re thinking of ways to reduce your plastic usage and single use packaging. From shampoo and shower gels to cleaning products there are many options for plastic free alternatives in the bathroom.

What are your most used eco swaps? What are you planning on trying next?
