When Zip World got in touch with me about helping them promote their Locals Loyalty offer I jumped at the chance to visit. Supporting local businesses, attractions and shouting out about how much there is to do right here on our doorstep in North Wales is something I’m passionate about.
Zip World always been on our list of places to go when little one was older. I hadn’t actually realised that there was a fair bit he could already do there at nearly 5 years. He turned 5 the day after our visit which means that there is even more he can do now too! We visited their Fforest site which is close to Betws-y-Coed at the beginning of March.

Our first port of call was reception to check-in and collect our wristbands for the Fforest coaster. Little one has insisted on bringing his little cuddly bunny Lili with him, the receptionist very kindly gave Lili a spectator wristband – much to his amusement! The coaster is over half a mile long and is the UK’s only alpine coaster of it’s kind. It starts with a steady ascent up through the trees with twist and turns on the descent back down to the station. The rider controls the brakes so you can go as fast as you’re brave enough to go, there are signs placed at points where you need to break. It got a big thumbs up from us and was a big hit with our little thrill seeker and couldn’t wait for his next turn! You get 3 rides with each ticket / wristbands, although given half the chance I’m sure our little guy would have happily gone on more! I think he preferred riding with his dad in the driving seat, he went quite a bit faster than I did. He is still insisting on calling the coaster a red train – no train I’ve been on has been this fun though😂

Whilst we were there we decided to make the most of our visit and take advantage of the current Locals Loyalty offer (more details at the end) and bought some tickets for the tree tops nets and we certainly didn’t regret it! The best way I can describe it is like walking on a giant trampoline – great for releasing the inner child in any adult! In between running / bouncing over the nets we took some time out to lie down and look up at the clouds . It was a pretty odd sensation being that high up, it felt like being in a giant hammock suspended in the trees – a very comfortable one at that. We could have certainly taken a nap after all the energy we burnt off. There was something quite refreshing being amongst the trees.

We had a brilliant time, the best day out we’ve had in quite a while! If you live locally or are visiting the area I’d highly recommend a visit – a great day and things to do for various age groups and thrill seeking levels too especially when you take into account all 3 Zip World locations. We’ve already got our next visit to Fforest planned!
