Greenwood Family Park – Family Days Out

We’ve visited Greenwood a few times over the past couple of years, our latest visit being during October half term. If you didn’t already know Greenwood or Gelli Gyffwrdd in Welsh, is a family park in Y Felinheli, North Wales. There is so much to do there and I’d thoroughly recommend a visit if you’re looking for a fun filled family day out here in North Wales. The first time I visited the park was on a school trip back in the 90’s so it’s lovely to be able to take my little one there too. We were gifted family tickets on our most recent visit.

As is almost always the case, I take so many photos on our days out, it seems a shame to have them left unseen on my memory cards. So here’s a little round up of some of the favourites and a bit about some of our ‘highlights’ from our most recent visit! I always enjoy a good nosey at some ‘real life’ pics when looking for places to visit, so here are some of ours for you to do the same!

As our not-so little one had grown tall enough to be able to ride it, the first thing we did when we arrived was head straight for the green dragon roller coaster – the world’s only people powered coaster. As we went around the fastest corner he shouted with enthusiasm “this is fantastic!” We would have gone again had there not been so much other things we wanted to do at the park.

After a quick sandwich stop we then headed for the enchanted river ride. This is another people powered activity as you use ropes and a paddle to move along the water. I think the smile on his face in this photo says it all!

Solar Splash was also another first experience for our little guy and another firm favourite! So much so they went on in twice in a row and we had the pictures sent over to commemorate the occasion.

The giant jumper was thoroughly enjoyed too; which 4 year old wouldn’t enjoy jumping around on a huge bouncing pillow!

Harley’s magic show, this was our little guys first magic show experience! He was pretty astonished when he saw the swords come out and gasped.

We headed over to the tree top towers  so that our little guy could burn off some of the bottomless bit of energy he seems to have.

On the day visited they had their first magical lantern parade event on so we stayed at the park ‘after hours’. Seeing the park after dark was magical. We made a lantern ready for the parade and enjoyed hot dogs. I was just a little bit excited as they had a vegan hot dog too😋 it’s not often I can eat (nearly) the same things as everyone else.

We can’t wait to visit again once the park reopens for the 2020 season.

Disclosure: We were provided with a family ticket in exchange for posts and stories on Instagram. All thoughts, opinions and photos are my own.
