Here’s a round up of my top three eco, low waste products that have allowed me to reduce waste and single use packaging in my everyday hair care routine. I’ve added these swaps into my everyday routine over time, one product at a time. I’m much more likely to stick with a swap if I try them one at a time, let one thing become part of my everyday routine before I try another.
Lamazuna solid shampoo – vanilla and coconut
The lamazuna shampoo bars are my all time favourite eco swap. I’ve sung their praises many a time over the past few years after trying various other shampoo bars and finally settling with this one.

Lamazuna solid conditioner – vanilla
I’ve only recently got round to trying this after purchasing it quite a while ago. I’ve used it a few times and so far, so good. It’s not like a bottled liquid conditioner as when applied to my hair whilst washing it I didn’t get that instant silky feeling on your hair straight away. However after my hair has dried I don’t notice the difference so it’s certainly done a good job and my hair feels silky and smooth. With my hair I find I have to use conditioner quite often so finding a conditioner bar that works for me is a big bonus in trying to reduce more waste and single use plastics in the bathroom. Lamazuna use all natural, vegan friendly and cruelty free ingredients in their products. There is also minimal packaging and what there is is easily recyclable. Id definalty count Lamazuna as one of my favourite eco beauty brands.
Olew curl cream
I’ve been using this for a few months after using the Olew original oil for years and it’s a big hit. I’m all about the fuss free products and this curl cream is one of them. I use it after (nearly) every hair wash, just take a small amount rub it in my palms and scrunch it into the ends of my hair. I’d given up on hair products years ago after I’d tried lots of different ‘frizz reducing’ products, none of which I noticed a difference with. It makes my curls feel more ‘together’ and ‘springy’. Olew has Welsh roots as the creator and founder Elinor comes from Aberystwyth, olew is the Welsh word for oil. Olew’s range of products are made with naturally derived ingredients, vegan friendly and are made in Wales. One of Olew’s missions is to encourage people to embrace their natural hair and be confident with their curls.
